Approaching Sponsors

The initial approach is all-important. In most cases there is only one bite at the cherry, so you have to get it right. Preparation is key so make sure you have a clear idea about what you want from your sponsor - best case and worst case scenario.
Starting from scratch can be daunting but there is no science to attracting sponsorship and no magic formulas. Luck can often play a big part, but most importantly it’s hard graft, a lot of legwork, time and effort. There is also often a very clear case of “It’s not what you know but who you know”.
